چکیده
Abstract The large acoustic noise of 80-110 dB during magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scanning harms patients’ comfort and health. can be reduced by hardware modification or active control, but these methods are expensive, difficult, not very effective. In this study, a sequence optimization method is used to mitigate the problem while maintaining image quality. 4 th order polynomial function applied design new quiet pulse sequences, decreasing gradient slew rate higher time derivatives original trapezoidal lobes. A sound pressure level (SPL) estimation proposed predict loudness from for genetic algorithm optimization. recalled echo (GRE) sequences on 1.5 T MRI scanner. average SPL 18.6 dBA, images show small differences have similar SNR values. This also scouting shimming GRE in common clinical applications with significant reduction.

Sequence-based acoustic noise reduction of clinical MRI scans.
PURPOSE Clinical MRI patients typically experience elevated acoustic noise levels of 80-110 dB(A). In this study, standard clinical turbo spin echo (TSE) and gradient echo (GRE) sequences were optimized for reduced acoustic noise at preserved diagnostic image quality. METHODS The physical sources of acoustic noise generation in an MRI gradient coil were analyzed. A sequence conversion algorit...
متن کاملA Structure Design Method for Reduction of MRI Acoustic Noise
The acoustic problem of the split gradient coil is one challenge in a Magnetic Resonance Imaging and Linear Accelerator (MRI-LINAC) system. In this paper, we aimed to develop a scheme to reduce the acoustic noise of the split gradient coil. First, a split gradient assembly with an asymmetric configuration was designed to avoid vibration in same resonant modes for the two assembly cylinders. Nex...

An important source of MRI acoustic noise-magnet cryostat warm-bore vibrations caused by eddy-current-induced forces-can be mitigated by a passive metal shield mounted on the outside of a vibration-isolated, vacuum-enclosed shielded gradient set. Finite-element (FE) calculations for a z-gradient indicate that a 2-mm-thick Cu layer wrapped on the gradient assembly can decrease mechanical power d...
متن کاملReduction of gradient acoustic noise in MRI using SENSE-EPI.
A new approach to reduce gradient acoustic noise levels in EPI experiments is presented. Using multichannel RF receive coils, combined with SENSE data acquisition and reconstruction, gradient slew-rates in single-shot EPI were reduced fourfold for rate-2 and ninefold for rate-3 SENSE. Multislice EPI experiments were performed on three different scanner platforms. With 3.4 mm in-plane resolution...
متن کاملBlind Dereverberation for MRI Acoustic Noise
Abstract. In Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) room, strong acoustic noise during the scan not only creates harmfully annoying environment but also interferes with brain activation response. The presence of reverberation in the MRI environment interferes with efficient noise canceling techniques. In this paper, we present a blind dereverberation method for estimating the broadband MRI acoustic n...
